“Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings.”
Getting started with anything life-changing often requires a lot of courage. Uncertainty, fear and self-doubts keep most of us from taking the first step towards our dreams.
Dreams that we wish would come true by themselves. I’m sure you have a few as well that you have been waiting to pursue for ages. You are saving them for the perfect day, the perfect moment but they never come, right?
Same with me and this minimalism blog, where I share my experience in living a minimalist lifestyle, frugal living and gaining most freedom.
I was never good at writing or telling stories. I sucked in school with those. Although I admired writers, authors and speakers and their skill of powerful storytelling, I never thought of working on those skills.
I wished that someday and somehow I’d be able to adapt them and start a blog or write articles and perhaps also write a book.
But I knew it would require a lot of work and that the lazy me would never get there by doing nothing. Nothing would happen if I didn’t want it bad enough and get to work.
I felt the itch to give it a try for ages but it took me a while to finally move my ass and begin. And even after setting up everything, right before publishing the website, self-doubts stroke. I waited for another week and another and another.
It was procrastination at its best. It’s fascinating how powerful the mind can be and within seconds, on the other hand, how weak. Like so often in life, all it needed was a simple decision, a small push and focus. So I shifted my mindset and finally clicked the “publish” button.
And here I am, putting down my first thoughts and sharing it with the universe. I’m excited, I’m fired up, I’m thrilled! My self-doubts seem to have disappeared, just like that. And, I feel alive!
Yes, I will share my approach to a minimalistic and frugal living, but today I want to begin by simply being grateful. I shout out “thank you!” universe, for allowing me to wake up this morning, open my eyes and breathe!
Not everyone is that lucky. Did you know that over 150.000 people don’t wake up each day? A big number isn’t it? So wouldn’t you consider it a miracle, that you woke up this morning and are alive? Yes or yes?
It is something to be grateful for and nothing to take for granted! So thank you for what I am, for my health, for the people I’m surrounded with, what I have and what I’m able to do! Simply thank you!
Gratitude has helped me in so many ways, especially in starting my day or beginning something new. It helps me to overcome fear and anxiety, gather fresh energy and build a strong and positive mindset.
Where there is gratitude there is no space for anger, fear or self-doubt. It reminds me that there is no guarantee for another day. Every additional day is a gift. A gift that is not to be thrown away but used wisely.
That’s why I decided to no longer waste time and thoughts on things and matters that don’t bring joy and value to my life.
No longer will I be selfish and keep my ideas and learnings for me. Instead I will share them with you and hopefully they will add value to you and other people’s lives as well.
That would be all for today. Thank you for stopping by and reading my very first blog post. I’d be happy if you started your day with gratitude from now on as well.
